Several kinds of infections affect the eyes. Some infections cause pain while others do not. Infection can be of several types. It is not easy to say whether those infections are curable or not. It is always better to contact the optometrist, though some home remedies are effective to heal your eye infection.

Can the eye infection heal on its own?
Some eye infections have symptoms while others do not. Infection in the eye causes redness, itching, blurry vision, watering, etc. If the infection is minor then it can heal on its own. However, if the infection is major then it might take time. That is why it is necessary to contact your optometrist or ophthalmologist as soon as possible. The eyes are the delicate parts of our physique. It is better not to neglect.

What are the different kinds of eye infections?
As we all know, infections are several types.

  1. Conjunctivitis: The most common eye infection is conjunctivitis. This infection covers the white portion of the eye and inside the eyelids. There are several types of conjunctivitis. Those are viral, bacterial, allergic, etc. The person who is affected by conjunctivitis experiences severe pain and discomfort.
  2. Keratitis: Keratitis is another inflammation or infection in the eye. The reason for this infection is not identified. However, researchers claim that using improper contact lenses is the cause of this infection. If this infection is not treated properly then it can causes permanent loss of eyesight.
  3. Endophthalmitis: Endophthalmitis is another type of infection. It is a disorder of the fluid or tissue inside the eye. That is why the infection needs timely medical treatment, or it may cause blindness.
  4. Cellulitis: Cellulitis is another infection of the eye. It can also affect the skin. There are two types of cellulitis. Those are orbital cellulitis and preseptal cellulitis. The eyes are swollen in this infection and cause severe pain. Moreover, constant tears fall from the eyes. It is very painful to bear the pain.

Eye infection should never be neglected because the eyes are the most crucial components of our body. Eye infection often cures by itself, but some infections can affect your eyesight, and need medical help. So, it is better to take care before it is too late.
